Lusaka registers highest new voters followed by Southern Province

Lusaka Province has recorded the highest number of new voters registered with Southern Province recording the second highest number.

And the highest number of updates was recorded in Southern Province.

Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Public Relations Manager Chris Akufuna disclosed Monday that a total of 301,000 new voters have been registered so far while 320,000 voters have updated or replaced their voter registration cards.

Akufuna said a total of 2,342 voters have died.

Lusaka recorded 61,906 new voters followed by Southern Province with 49,002 new voters.

President Lungu won the 2015 presidential election with 27,757 votes separating him from UPND president Hakainde Hichilema.
