Lusaka woman drowns after drinking spree

A 23-YEAR-OLD woman of Lusaka has drowned in a swimming pool at a lodge after a drinking spree.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 21:00 hours in Mtendere when the victim, in the company of friends, decided to swim after taking alcohol.
This is according to a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday by police acting public relations officer Rae Hamoonga.
Mr Hamoonga identified the deceased as Bridget Banda of Rhodespark.
He said Bridget was pulled out of the swimming pool by a lodge manager, James Mbale.
Mr Hamoonga said the victim was then rushed to M.P.K private hospital where she was pronounced dead and her body was taken to the University Teaching Hospital, awaiting postmortem.
