Lwandamina aiming for a win against Uganda Cranes

Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina says his squad will be going for a win against the Uganda Cranes stating that Zambia’s target was three points and qualification to the knock out round. Lwandamina said he knew Uganda’s style of play but added that Zambia’s strength would be key in the battle to seal a last eight place.
Skipper Chris Katongo said the team was gaining momentum and were ready for a high intensity game as they were determined and dreamed of winning the championship.
‘We know Uganda is wounded after that draw but we also are eager and have the hunger. We will give them respect they deserve but we want to win and qualify. Games that have been played between us in the past are gone. The motivation for our players is aiming at winning the cup. Nobody came here to lose,’ Lwandamina said.
Concerning Uganda vs Mali and my views, football is played on the field. What people think out there isn’t what will happen on the field. We have our strategy which targets a win. For us a win is what is important, how many goals we win with isn’t important.
And team captain Christopher Katongo said the players have gained momentum and are aiming at getting to the next round.
‘We are gaining momentum and players’ game level is getting higher and we want to go to the next round,’ Katongo said.
Katongo said Uganda have a small chance of beating Zambia on Saturday adding that the game will have high intensity because the players have acclimatised to the pitch.
