Lwandamina names provisional squad for Congo

Zambia national football team coach George Lwandamina has named a 33-man provisional squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group E back to back qualifiers scheduled for 23rd and 27th March in Ndola and Brazzaville respectively.

With the exception of Christopher Munthali who is serving a two month ban from football activity, Lwandamina has listed all players who were part of the assemblage at the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda.

Zanaco midfielder Charles Zulu who was in the initial CHAN squad but did not travel to Rwanda in order to attend trials in Spain has returned to the squad.

Lwandamina has listed ten foreign-based players including Davies Nkausu, Winston Kalengo, Evans Kangwa and Kabaso Chongo.

Others are goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene, Stopilla Sunzu, Nathan Sinkala, Rainford Kalaba, Lubambo Musonda as well as Collins Mbesuma.

The team goes into residential camp on Sunday, March 6.
