Monday afternoon Mfuwe residents took to the streets demanding that trucks that are parked in Mfuwe National waiting to capture wild animal leave within 24 hours.
Dozens of trucks are parked at Mfuwe head offices at Chinzombo waiting to load captured animals and take them to private game reserves.
The animals are being darted then captured and loaded in trucks.
Eastern province minister Makebi Zulu has been mentioned as one of the ministers involved in and facilitating the capturing of animals from national parks. He is working with tourism minister Ronald Chitotela to sell animals from reserve national parks.
Most of the businessmen who are capturing animals are using Makebi Zulu’s law firm to legalise the poaching.
