Police on the Copperbelt have arrested one man for allegedly defiling an imbecile.
In Eastern province the police have arrested a 52-year old man for defiling a 14-year old girl.
According to police spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela, the the Copperbelt incident occurred on 19th November, 2012 around 09:00 hours at second class trading area in Luanshya.
‘Facts of the matter are that Charles Tembo of house no. 1837 Mikomfwa Luanshya was found having canal knowledge of an embecile. He was caught and brought to the police station by concerned members of the public,’ said Kanjela.
She said the victim sustained bruises on her right thigh.
The suspect has been arrested and charged with defilement of an imbecile contrary to section 139 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia, said Kanjela.
He will appear in court soon.
In Eastern province, police have arrested a man aged 52 for defiling a 14 year old girl.
The incident occurred between 16th November, 2012 around 18:00 and 19th November, 2012 around 18:00 hours at Sukalumusya village Petauke district.
According Kanjela, the girl in question went missing from home for three days (16th to 19th November 2012) and when she returned home she claimed having come from the suspect’s home.
The suspect has been identified as Lackson zulu aged 52 of Sukalumusya village Petauke district.
The victim sustained painful private parts.
The suspect has since been arrested and charged with defilement contrary to section 138 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia and he will appear in court soon.
