A senior Pentecostal Pastor in Mansa has cursed candidates who are standing on the opposition tickets in the forthcoming parliamentary by-election.
Bishop Robertson Nonde, the Chief Pastor of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God has instead blessed PF candidate Dr. Chitalu Chilufya.
But pastor Nonde (in the picture below)has annoyed some congregants who have since asked the mother body to discipline the bishop.
Bishop Nonde last Sunday openly performed a r
itual to bless PF candidate Dr. Chitalu Chilufya at the Pulpit of the Mansa Assemblies of God Church.
Some congregants who asked the Zambian Watchdog to publish this story allege Bishop Nonde received K 50,000 from the candidate who also received the money from Lands Minister Harry Kalaba.
“We are very disappointed with our Bishop. He has started charging for blessings. Imagine this Sunday he openly blessed Chilufya from the pulpit and said something like a curse on his opponents.
What type of a bishop is that? We are told he received K 50,000 from Chilufya and that the money was donated by Lands Minister Harry Kalaba for general use at the church but he has decided to pocket it” sourceS said. The sources also wondered what would happen to the reputation of the church if the PF candidate had to lose after the blessings from the pulpit.
On the other hand, the PF candidate Chiluya has donated K10, 000 and roofing sheets to the United Church of Zambia (MANSA) Congregation.
Early this year, the Lusaka High Court nullified the election of Mtolo Phiri as Chipata Central Member of Parliament because he donated K1 million to his church.
Opposition political parties taking part in the Mansa by-election say they have enough evidence to prove that Chilufya made a donation to the UCZ and that should Chilufya win, the would take the matter to court.
