Manufacturing hit by load shedding, says Association

The Zambia Association of Manufactures  (ZAM) says it  is worried  with the country’s growing trade deficit.
ZAM chief executive officer Maybin Nsupila has  attributed the growing trade deficit to power load shedding which has led to low productivity of business houses.
Mr. Nsupila told Muvi TV that efficiency levels by most companies have reduced to about 30 percent, a situation expected to worsen if the power deficit continues.
Zambia recorded a trade deficit valued at K1.29 Kwacha in June 2015 from a trade deficit of  K1.21 Billion recorded in May 2015.
