Former Masaiti MP katambo receives corrupt money from Lungu to bribe voters

Former Masaiti MP Michael Katambo whose seat was nullified for corrupt practices was this week in Lusaka and got more than K300,000 corrupt money from president Edgar Lungu so that he can stand on the PF ticket in the forth-coming by-elections.

It seems Katambo does not learn from his corrupt practices as he also received a huge chunk of money from Former President Rupiah Banda, who has taken over the PF, to target other Lamba elders and chiefs so that they can support him.

Highly placed sources revealed that Katambo was in State House on 19th February 2015 and later met Rupiah Banda to receive money and PF materials to start distributing in Masaiti constituency.

PF Copperbelt provincial Chairperson Sturdy Mwale who petition the election of Katambo was also with Katambo at State House to receive money and target chiefs such as Mushili, Chiwala, Machiya, and Malembeka who are so far believed to have refused the bribe.

A further K100,000 was also released for Chinondo Ward to Shadreck Chitafu and George Chilambe to bribe other MMD councilors but it is not clear whether they have given the money to their friends.

But information on the ground is that most of the Lamba elders that have been targeted have so far refused or are just getting the money and duping Katambo.

Katambo has also been threatened by the PF that if he does not agree to stand on the PF ticket, they will bar him from contesting like the likes of Dora Siliya of Petauke Central.
