Tourism and Arts Minister Syvia Masebo lied under oath when she told the just ended Roydah Kaoma tribunal that President Michael Sata instructed her to dissolve the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) board, a source from State House has disclosed.
The source who declined to be named because he is not authorised to speak to the Press said President Sata was very surprised when he received a report from the special branch that Masebo had testified that it was him who authorised Masebo to dissolve the ZAWA board and fire senior managers.
“The President was very surprised when he received the report about Masebo testifying that he authorised her to dissolve the board, fire managers and cancel tenders. He has actually written to Masebo to produce the letter of instruction” the source said.
The source said Sata was about to fire Masebo but as usual the cartel of Wynter Kabimba, Fred Mmembe and Mutembo Nchito prevailed over the President.
The source said Vice President Guy Scot also convinced Sata not to fire Masebo. ” Even Guy Scot pleaded to Sata not to fire Masebo. The President was also not happy with Guy Scot testifying minus his express authorisation. He is still upset over the issue but Masebo may survive because of the cartel’s influence” the source said.
