Stephen Masamba has swapped most of the District Commissioners (DCs) in North-Western Province with immediate effect in what he called to enhance maximum performance.
The North-Western province Minister, Stephen Masumba said the swapping of the DCs follows recommendations made by his provincial administration and approved by President Michael Sata.
Solwezi District Commissioner, Dennis Kanyakula has been swapped with his Kabompo counterpart, Crispin Likando while Kasempa District Commissioner, Shatewa Ndumba moves to Ikelenge and will be replaced by Mwinilunga District Commissioner, Victor Kayekesi.
Masela Sekeseke for Mufumbwe has gone to Mwinilunga leaving Mufumbwe to Chavuma District Commissioner, Emma Mukokwe while Chavuma will now be under the charge of Adjah Chipawa from Ikelenge district.
However, the recently moved District Commissioners, Lawrence Kayumba for Manyinga and Catherine Mukuma for Zambezi districts respectively, have maintained their respective stations.
In announcing the swapping, Mr Masumba said President Sata allowed the changes in order to foster effective service delivery to the public in the province.
He urged the District Commissioners to work hard and prove their relevance in government since they are at the helm of directing government policies and programmes in districts.
