Mbala runs out of Meallie Meal

Mbala district has completely run out of meallie meal, Zambia’s staple food.

People in the vast district are running to and from in search of the commodity which went out of stock over the weekend.

Some residents talked to said their is serious suffering in the area as people do not know what to do next.

Some shop owners hoped that maybe by Friday there will be some Meallie Meal from far flung areas like Lusaka.

Just two weeks ago, the Copperbelt province and Kasama district ran out of meallie meal pushing the prices of the commodity to records high of K80, 000 per bag.

The PF regime promised to develop Zambia within 90 days of taking over government.

we should be careful of the type and kind of people we give power to govern us.Mbala people voted and they are enjoying their vote. Viva kuchuundu.

Solwezi residents are queeing from as early as 04:00 hours just to buy one bag of 25kg at K65’000 and are being told that it is likely to go upto K70’000. Black marketeers are selling at K95’000 per 25kg bag.

It is easier to critisize than to govern. Governance requires gene while opposing requires noise making. Noise makers are good outside governmennt. Never ever risk to give them ministerial posts otherwise he’ll will break loose.

The report that there is shortage of usu [mealie meal] in Mbala should be clarified like this: The Mbala town residents have run out of usu [mealie meal]. The farmers and villagers are not affected cos they still have alot of maize in the eastern, southern and northern villages. As for Mpulungu, the affected people are, again, the Mpulungu Port dwellers, for villagers have both cassava and malezi [millet] As for relish, there is kapenta, fish in general, milk meat and the Big Beans Business. Nga ciza uli? Tekini myenzo.Mutauvwa ukuyalwale.

One is left wondering just what the hell Zondwe thought he would do with the presidence in his hands. With all the experience he has, he has thus far been the worst headless idiot any country in Southern Africa has had for a president. Every day and night there, there is nothing roaming mu kalukobo apart from tribal bigotry and stupi re-alignments that are sparking unnecessary expenses for the state. The endless poaching of MPs and the resultant bye election is also another tragic addiction of Zondwe that has wrecked havoc on state coffers. As though this was not bad enough, the SOB illegally allocates his wife a budget and also starts building his retirement home knowing only too well that Dr Desai in India gave him only one year more to live before he kicks the bucket, so why build a retirement home that he will surely not live to occupy! Bukuba bwa musholi ba bu tulile sikala!

Stop lying, I live here in Mbala and shops have run out of mealie meal. People right now are panicking. This is a reality. Some traders have hiked the price to K80,000 per 25Kg of breakfast. I don’t know what is really happening in our country. FRA please give maize to millers so that we do away with black markets. We dont want to suffer in our own land.

Since we already have a shortage of leaders, we will soon have a shortage of Chiefs, men, women and a shortage of everything.

It had to take ZAF to fill the swimming pool using their new fire-tenders and our only and dearest tender from LCC. That’s a shortage of leaders and decision makers at Lusaka water.

Ubunga issue is not new in Zambia. Government has already done their part and they have established that the Zambian people who are complaining are behind the illegal exporting of UBUNGA to CONGO why is government being blamed?
    Please be objective.

    • comment-avatar

but of course govt would have been to blame if it was happening under RB’s watch right?

Smuggling of mealiemeal to Congo is not a new phenomena. Hence, Congo has always been named the 10th province of Zambia. What is it that is happening now that should bring shortages? Running away from responsibilities will not help, but being proactive and on top of things. That is why they are in power. Full stop!!
