Kabwe Warriors forward Idriss Mbombo has joined Zesco United on a season-long loan, both clubs have confirmed.
Kabwe Warriors released a statement on their official Face book page on Monday while Zesco United confirmed the deal via their official website.
Kabwe Warriors and Zesco United agreed the terms of Mbombo’s loan deal on Saturday and the former has since revealed that the player will earn K17,000.00 (approximately $1500.00) per month.
Mbombo joins the 2015 MTN FAZ Super league champions following a successful first season in the FAZ Division One South league with Kabwe Warriors where he contributed 23 out of the 58 goals scored by the team.
“We can confirm that Idriss Mbombo is joining Zesco United Football Club on loan,” Kabwe Warriors stated on Face book.
“The offer the lad was given by Zesco was irresistible. Zesco offered to be paying him K17000 per month against the K10, 000.00 we offered him in the new contract.
As a club we wish him the best and promise to bring in better players ahead of the season.”
Meanwhile Zesco United Player Status Committee Member Charles Kalala said he was confident Mbombo would play a role in the club’s Caf competitions in 2016.
Mbombo joined his new teammates on Monday morning at the Trade Fair Ground in Ndola.
