Eleven Alliance for Development and Democracy (ADD) National Executive Committee members have defected to the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND).
The defecting ADD NEC members were led by the party’s founding President Douglas Shing’andu.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka Saturday, Shing’andu urged young people to support UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema whom he described as a visionary man fit to Zambia.
And former ADD Provincial chairman Benson Shibulobe claimed that the Charles Milupi-led party is going nowhere.
When contacted for a comment on the defections, ADD President, Charles Milupi referred queries to the party General Secretary Stafford lizu.
Lizu however told Muvi TV news that the ADD is not aware of any of its members’ defections.
