Minister bashes woman as police continue harassing opposition candidate

Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe yesterday bashed a woman with his vehicle as he was dishing out money to the electorates in Lubansenshi and later dumped her at the hospital but police have not acted.

And the PF police this morning questioned UPND candidate Patrick Mucheleka in Luwingu and recorded a warn and caution from him.

The UPND team in the area that include Mazabuka Central constituency MP Gary Nkombo questioned police on why they have not summoned Freedom Sikazwe over his bashing of a woman while driving a government vehicle.

Police said they would summon Mr. Sikazwe laterimage image, but the UPND team threatened to effect a citizens arrest on Sikazwe and hand him over to the police if nothing is done by this afternoon.

Meanwhile PF police continued harassing Mucheleka and summoned him to police this morning in Luwingu on accusations of having incited the violence against the District Commissioner who was beaten by villagers in the area.
