Ministers should not ignore court judgment – LAZ

Zambia’s rule of Law will be undermined if the former ministers fail to pay back the salaries they drew when they illegally remained in office after the dissolution of parliament in 2016 , the Law Association of Zambia has said.

LAZ President Eddie Mwitwa says the ministers will set a bad precedent if they do not abide by the judgement of the constitutional court.

Mr. Mwitwa says the rule of law demands that a decision of the courts of law be adhered to by affected parties and if they are not satisfied they may appeal in another court.

He has however vowed that LAZ will not relent in its pursuit to ensure that the constitutional court ruling is respected.
