The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services MIBS has concluded studying the Auditor General’s Report forNational Broadcasting (ZNBC).
Information and Broadcasting Minister, Lt General Ronnie Shikapwasam said that the report found it necessary for the board to effect a re-organization that will enable the ZNBC operate in accordance with public expectations.
Lt Gen Shikapwasa further said this re-organization will see a number of measures being taken to streamline the structure, market as well as programming with a view to improving the financial standings in the national broadcaster.
This is contained in a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka this evening.
The minister stressed that re-organization of ZNBC will be necessary in future to continue the process of enhancing the performance of the cooperation.
The minister, who is also Chief Government Spokesperson, explained that the audit has greatly helped to bring to the fore weaknesses in the cooperation.
He noted that the audit has also helped to verify some allegations put forward by the unions and enable the board to take appropriate action.
