Media Institute of Southern Africa and some privately owned local media houses have gone to court to obtain an injunction against government’s decision to bar them from covering the official opening of parliament.
MISA Zambia chairperson Hellen Mwale, accompanied by Muvi TV and Daily Nation newspaper have decided to seek court protection following the PF government’s direction to parliament not to allow some journalists perceived to be critic of government.

Meanwhile, in an effort to escape embarrassment, government has directed ZESCO to disconnect some areas in the country as Sata staggers to parliament where he is expected to deliver a very short speech.

And our correspondent positioned inside parliament has told us that a sickly Sata may not perform the full military ceremonial functions associated with opening of parliament.

More details will be availed later.
