Hired MMD lawmaker Catherine Namugala was Sunday night featured on the State owned and PF controlled ZNBC on which she cast aspersion on party president Nevers Mumba whom she said was not the leader of the biggest opposition but represented the defunct Reform Party.
Namugala, who is one of the few MMD members expected to defect to the ruling Patriotic Front to survive prosecution from corruption allegations, accused Dr Mumba of launching 2016 campaigns when the party had not endorsed him as its candidate.
The Mafinga MP was a close ally of former President Rupiah Banda but has made a sudden u-turn to flirt with PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba and President Michael Sata.
Namugala and Lunte MP Felix Mutati are earmarked for poaching by the PF but have been assigned to destabilise the MMD as their immediate assignment.
She accused Dr Mumba of being an outsider who was not eligible to contest the position of MMD president.
Dr Mumba beat Mutati with a landslide to assume the position of MMD president during the MMD mini convention in May 2012.
Meanwhile, MMD acting National Secretary Kapembwa Simbao has said those flirting with the Patriotic Font were weak souls that could not stand in the opposition. Simbao was speaking during Muvi TV’s the assignment programme.
