MMD regrets mwakalombe’s resignation

Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) Deputy National Secretary, Chembe Nyangu says his party regrets the resignation of Chogwe Member of Parliament (MP) Japhen Mwakalombe from his position.

Nyangu told the media that though the former ruling party regrets Mwakalombe’s resignation, the MMD believes he has a good reason for leaving.

He disclosed that the MP gave no proper reason for quitting and all the MMD could do is wish him well in his future endeavors.

Meanwhile, Nyangu said his party is shocked and disappointed by the appointments of MMD members to hold ministerial positions in the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

He noted that the MPs who accepted positions under new regime have proved that the individuals were not committed but just used the party to rise to power.

Nyangu further said MMD spent a lot of money to secure the victory of appointed party members, and though the move was regrettable, the party and could only wish them well.
