Some MMD Leaders in Lusaka have threatened to physically sort out Katuba Member of Parliament Jonas Shakafuswa for his negative comments against President Rupiah Banda.
Recently, Mr. Shakafuswa said President Banda’s government was providing mediocre leadership to the people of Zambia.
MMD Lusaka District Vice Chairman Donald Chilufya has dared Mr. Shakafuswa to try and attend the party’s National Convention in April and he will be taught a lesson.
He told journalists in Lusaka today that loyal MMD members will physically sort out the lawmaker for what he termed as insults against the Head of State.
Mr. Chilufya has since called on all provincial leaders in MMD to join their colleagues in Lusaka to sort out Mr. Shakafuswa at the convention.
But when contacted for a comment, Katuba Member of Parliament, Jonas Shakafuswa described the MMD leaders threatening to attack him as thugs.
He says no one will stop him from attending the National convention because Zambia is a peaceful nation.
Mr. Shakafuswa has since challenged Vice President, George Kunda to order the arrest of the MMD leaders in Lusaka District for threatening his life.
The lawmaker recalled that in parliament today, Mr. Kunda said Zambia was a country of law and order, therefore those threatening violence must be locked up.
