MMD to form shadow cabinet next week

MMD president, Nevers Mumba, says he will next will announce his ‘shadow cabinet’ that will offer the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) Government the necessary guidance governance of the nation.And Dr Mumba says the MMD will be holding a retreat that is aimed at re-organising and plan the party ahead of the 2016 presidential elections.Dr Mumba says the shadow cabinet, will be ‘a government in waiting’ till 2016 when MMD returns to power four years from now.

The opposition leader, who is on a campaign trail of constituencies in Lusaka province, was speaking in Lusaka’s Chawama Township when he addressed a public rally held at Chawama Motel.

Senior National Executive Committee members, Malambo Member of Parliament (MP) Maxwell Mwale and his Kasanengwa counterpart, Victoria Kalima and ward members from Chawama Constituency also attended the public rally.

Dr Mumba said his cabinet would give the PF Government a tough time and said that the MMD is the largest opposition political party which is better placed to offer checks and balances to the government of the day.
