MMD youths in Mazabuka have advised opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema to stop his blatant attacks on Chief Mwanachingwala of the Tonga Speaking people.
MMD District vice chairperson, Golden Choompya said in a statement to ZANIS in Mazabuka that MR Hichilema and his UPND leadership should immediately stop attacking Chief Mwanachingwala but concentrate on resolving his (Mr. Hichilema) party ‘s internal differences.
Mr. Choompya stated that it is sad to note that the UPND leadership from all levels has chosen to attack the Chief for declaring his for support President Banda.
He urged the UPND leader to seriously find ways of thwarting attempts by his members of parliament to expel him from his party.
He wondered why the opposition party has continued issuing incessant attacks on Chief Mwanachingwala if he is politically a lightweight.
Mr. Choonya said MMD youths are impressed with the support that the ruling party is enjoying as a result of Chief Mwanachingwala’s endorsement for President Banda’s candidature in next year’s general elections.
Mr. Hichilema is quoted in the local media to have accused the Traditional leader of campaigning for the ruling MMD.
But the Chief has disputed the accusation saying it is untrue adding that he is not a poor person and not a beggar adding that the MMD is genuine.
