Mongu town clerk arrested for theft of K60m

Acting Mongu Town Clerk Mulowa Sishumba and other 3 senior council officials from Senanga district of Western Province have been nabbed by a joint team of government investigators for theft by public servant involving 60 million kwacha.

Mr. Sishumba who is former Senanga District Council Secretary has been arrested with other 3 officials that include Senanga District Council Treasurer, Director of Works and a Planning officer.
Chairperson of the team also Provincial Commissioner of police Fanwell Siandenge disclosed to the media.
He said the four while acting together between March and September 2010 withdrew the money from the Community Access Improvement Programme (CAIP) bank account and shared it amongst themselves.
The four have since been released on police bond and will appear in court tomorrow.
Mid this year PF cadres locked up Mr. Sishumba’s office accusing him of not supporting plans by the ruling government and being an MMD cadre.
