More than 1000 miners and other workers have lost their jobs after Mopani terminated contracts for some mine contractors on the Copperbelt.
Mopani has shut down some of its operations (shafts).
ARTRIBUTES OF A PRO POOR GRZ???THE OVERSEER HAVE GONE TO SLEEP OR WE’RE IN A POLICY QUAGMIRE SYNDROME (PQS) NO DIRECTION AT ALL
The guilty ones are always afraid.
I don’t think it’s fair to blame any govt for something like this. This is bound to happen in a natural resource extraction business.
A leader is supposed to provide solutions not make excuses.
If the economy was growing at a faster rate those miners would be employed elsewhere. I repeat your man has no gameplan.
This saga also illustrates the folly of paying vuvuzelas like Habazooka who talks about nationalising mines. This is serious business not supplying overpriced fire trucks under dubious tenders. It need lots of capital investment and is highly vulnerable to fluctuations in copper prices and needs plenty of risk management.
Nationalization is another option risks are everywhere even at personal level.fear to take risks and remain where you are!
Not with these jokers.
They will just do asset stripping and share out supply contracts for things like paper at 5 times the whole price.
They are failing to run ZESCO, Zamtel etc.
KK nationalised but he was at least patriotic not parasitic. The Debswana arrangement in Botswana is a better model. You need an partner with expertise in finance mobilisation and efficient management.
Thank you Mr PF, appricite this very much
Mopan coppermine is it a parastatal or private company for you to blame the pf get?dull.
