More than twelve people have died in Lundazi district in eastern province in a road traffic accident involving a Toyota Hiace minibus.
An eye witness has told the watchdog that the Toyota Hiace minibus driven by a mr eddie chipeta was coming from chief Magodi area of Lundazi to Lundazi boma when the accident happened.
Among the people who were in the minibus are a Mr. Katebe Banda, a Ms Chavula and Ms Chiwowa.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. An eye witness has so far counted 12 bodies and more are expected as some people have died from the hospital.

A fatal road accident on the Lundazi –Chama road has left eight people dead and several others injured.
Provincial Criminal Investigations Officer, Robertson Mwemba confirmed the fatal accident, which occurred around 08hours today about 12 kilometres from Lundazi boma.
Mr. Mwemba says that a minibus registration number ABZ 7052 and a Benz truck registration number ADD 3161collided near Hoya Basic School killing seven people on the spot while one person died at the hospital.
He says that three men, two women and three children died from the mini-bus driven by 35 year old Edgar Chipeta from Emusa area.
Mr. Mwemba explained that the accident happened when Mr. Chipeta failed to negotiate a curve and rammed into the on-coming Benzi truck, driven by 40 year old Given Tembo.
He says that Mr. Chipeta fled the accident scene.
By News time police officers had rushed to Kanyanja Clinic to check on other passengers who were injured in the accident.
