More than two hundred workers at Mechanised Mining Solution MMS in Chingola have lost their jobs.
This is as a result of the restructuring process the company is undergoing.
MMS Director Yolonimo Banda says the company has reduced its labour force of one thousand and four by over two hundred employees by terminating the contracts of all the workers who were on probation.
Mr Banda has told ZNBC News in a telephone interview on Sunday that MMS has trimmed its workforce due to the reduction in contracts from Konkola Copper Mine, the company which give then business.
He says that KCM has reduced the number of contracts given to MMS in the next four months making it difficult for the company to retain all the more that one thousand employees
Mr Banda however says both the labour office and union have been informed about the development.
He added that the workers whose contracts were terminated last Friday will be paid their November Salaries and leave days.
Mr Banda says MMS will remain committed to ensuring that many Zambian are employed and his firm will continue to abide by the labour laws of the country.
