A Member of Parliament has confirmed that Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili has illegally constructed houses on State Land in Luanshya. The MP who sits of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports who declined to be named for fear of being victimised by the rough Roan Member of Parliament said the Zambian Watchdog story that Chishimba Kambwili had grabbed land that belonged to the Ministry of Sports which was formerly Luanshya Golf club was true and that a report was given to then late President Michael Sata who threatened Kambwili with dismissal if he went ahead. The source said when President Sata’s health satrted failing him, Kambwili went ahead and started constructing houses. The source said Lands Commissioner Barnaby Mullenga a very close friend to Kambwili facilitated for Kambwili. The Zambian Watchdog last week reported that Kambwili has illegally built close to 40 mansions on state land illegally. The properties are on Westeria Avenue number 9 in Luanshya. On the gate it is written ” Kambwili Estates Villa Febby Nonde Nundwe” Kambwili has also built mansions along the Ndola Luanshya Road and he is also constructing a filling station in a residential area. The land is alleged to have been grabbed from a widow.
Last week we challenged Kambwili to refute our report that he has illegally built houses on state land but up to date he has not done so.
