MP Mushili found guilty

The Lusaka Magistrate Court has convicted Ndola Central Member of Parliament Mark Mushili to Six Months Imprisonment with hard labour for attempting to swindle government of over K300 million.
Hononourable Mushili, 65, a resident of Dr Dammie Street Northrise in Ndola was sentenced after being found guilty of attempting to obtain K360, 000 through fake claims of supplying food stuffs to government ministries.
Honourable Mushili who has been convicted with two other people was arrested by the Drug Enforcement Commission on 14th March 2006.
Honourable Mushili together with Winfred Phiri and Enfred Sichelwa used Clemus Marketing Company for which he was the owner to try to swindle government by purporting that he had supplied food stuffs to Zambia Army when not.
The sentence has been suspended for one year but he has been ordered to do community service at the Lusaka Magistrate court premises for 120 hours.
Honourable Mushili is also facing other charges of Money laundering activities before Ndola Magistrate court involving over K 6 billion.
