Former Defense Minister George Mpombo has charged both the Movement for Multi party Democracy (MMD) and United Party for National Development (UPND) have no political future.
Speaking to JOY FM, Mpombo said most MMD members are likely to defect if the former ruling party is auctioned to UPND.
He said there is need for MMD president Rupiah Banda to resign and allow the party to choose visionary leaders with fresh ideas.
Mpombo claimed that both the MMD and UPND have leaders who do not understand politics, adding that Banda is nothing but a liability that will cause political impasse.
The former Minister also advised members of the past ruling party to ensure they elect individuals of their choice to rule the MMD and not choose UPND president Hakainde Hichilema as such is just wishful thinking.
