Mpombo makes accusations on bouncing cheque

Former Defence Minister George Mpombo says former MMD Copperbelt provincial Chairperson Terence Findlay who reported him to the police for issuing him a bounced K10 Million cheque has been awarded a contract by government for supply of nurses uniforms.
Mpombo says Findlay might have gotten excited with the business favor given to him by government and wanted to show appreciation by reporting him to the police over the bounced cheque.
He added that Findlay is in a hurry to get in good books with president Rupiah Banda hence his actions.
Mpombo further stated that he suspects that Findlay’s maneuvers to report him to the police over the bounced cheque was one way of trying to expedite his reinstatement as MMD Copperbelt province Chairman by president Banda.
The former defence minister who had his case withdrawn from police after paying K10 million cash had borrowed k10 million from the Ndola businessman.
And Mpombo says president Rupiah Banda’s government should stop using what he termed as sponsored Non Governmental Organizations to attack the the legacy of Late president Levy Mwanawasa.
He says there is need to respect the legacy of the late president which is what the Lamba-speaking people are asking.
