Copperbelt MMD spokesperson Yotam Mtayachalo says the ruling Patriotic Front government should not brag about the on-going countrywide road developments because the project was initiated by former president Rupiah Banda.
Mr. Mtayachalo says all the road projects on the Copperbelt and other parts of the country are MMD projects and the current government is just implementing the initiative.
He maintains that the Patriotic Front government has no agenda and has continued to make pronouncements that are not backed by reality.
Mr. Mtayachalo was speaking in an interview with Flava Fm News.
And Mr. Mtayachalo who is MMD candidate in the Chama North parliamentary by-election has alleged that the ruling Patriotic Front is using under hand methods in a bid to win votes in the area.
Mr. Mtayachalo in a telephone interview with Flava Fm News alleged that the PF government is using government vehicles, grading roads, distributing relief food and Chitenge material a thing he says amounts to vote buying.
He has advised the ruling party to behave in a civilized manner as it is no-longer in opposition.
Mr. Mtayachalo has however said he is confident of scooping the parliamentary seat because the people of Chama North have realized that the PF have nothing to offer.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set Thursday 5 July 2012 at the date for the parliamentary by-elections for Livingstone, Chama north and Muchinga constituencies.
The ECZ will on the same date hold 11 local government bye- elections.
