Works, Supply, Transport and communications minister Yamfwa Mukanga has confirmed that some projects initiated by the late Michael Sata had to be halted because government has no money to fund the projects.
Mukanga told State controlled ZNBC in Kabompo during the commissioning of some more projects that government had halted some of the projects due to lack of funds. However he has said that government has now sourced for some money to pay contractors.
Earlier this month, Education minister Michael Kaingu called for increased private partnership in the education sector because government alone was unable to fully fund the sector. This month civil servants who usually receive their salaries by mid month only started getting paid over the weekend.
