PF secretary general Bridget Atanga has told the Lusaka High Court to dismiss with costs matters, where two individuals are seeking to block the PF convention slated next Saturday.
Atanga submitted before Judge Mwila Chitabo that grounds on which Francis Fube Mulenga wants to block the general conference are frivolous and vexatious as they were based on mere speculations.
In her affidavit in opposition to summons for an order of interim injunction filed by Attanga said Fube did not state his standing with regard to the PF other than merely describing himself as the plaintiff.
‘As far as PF records are concerned, Mr Mulenga ceased to be a member of the PF in 2006 when he resigned following his non-adoption to stand as a member of Parliament for Chilubi Constituency in 2006,’ read part of the arguments by Atanga.
She said that it was not true that there was no consultation with the central committee as the plaintiff indicated, as a meeting was held and a press statement which was jointly signed by acting President Guy Scott and former secretary general Edgar Lungu was issued on November 4, 2014.
