Mulongoti speaks out on president Banda’s parents being Malawian

Former works minister Mike Mulongoti has challenged President Rupiah Banda to prove that he is legally ruling the country.

Mulongoti said President Banda should clear the air on whether he is qualified to rule the country or not.

Yesterday, former Zambian ambassador to Malawi and Botswana Milton Phiri claimed that President Rupiah Banda has been leading the country illegally because both his parenst are Malawians.

Speaking to QFM Friday, Mulongoti however refuted information that he is behind the allegations brought forward by theMilton Phiri.

He wondered why his name keeps coming up each time certain allegations are made.

He said he is not a guardian of Phiri, and has no business in the allegations that were made by the former Zambian envoy.

But Mulongoti added that President Rupiah Banda should take a leaf from US president Barrack Obama who produced his birth certificate following questions on whether he was born in the United States or not.

Parallel information obtained by the Watchdog indicates that Former Works Minister Mike Mulongoti and Former ambassador to Libya Mbita Chitala are the ones speaking behind Phiri. The two are claiming that they have documents to prove that both parents of president Banda were born in Malawi and are Malawians. The two are said to be planning to expose the foreign parentage of the president in the next ten days.
Sources close to the two have revealed that it was Chitala who organised the press conference but used Phiri to speak.
The plot is to drive home the fact that president Banda was born in Zimbabwe to Malawian parents.
