Former vice president Nevers Mumba is the new Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) president.
Mumba won after a second round of voting between him and former Commerce Minister Felix Mutati.
In the first round of voting Mumba polled 557 which is 42.5% followed by his next rival Mutati who polled 360 votes which is 28.9% of the votes.
Former Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane got 273 votes which is 27.8% of the total votes cast.
Former Foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Pande 89 votes which is 6.7% of the votes.
Kapembwa Simbao, the former Health Minister polled 20 votes (1.52% of the total votes) while Chisamba MP Moses Muteteka polled 5 votes (0.38 votes).
Rich man Enoch Kavindele got no vote which does not represent any per centage.
