Munshya educates Emmanuel Mwamba on difference between PF and Zambia

Your Excellency Mwamba
By Elias Munshya
It is the duty of every Zambian to speak well of their country, but it isn’t the duty of every Zambian to speak well of their government or the ruling party. The ruling party used the machinery of the country to arrest a Mr. Hichilema who didn’t commit treason. That step alone is enough to trash the kind of oppressive leadership characteristic of the ruling Patriotic Front. You say that Zambians must speak well and yet you don’t listen to Zambians when they tell you that you’re being oppressive. It had to take Ms. Scotland to come and tell your government that Mr. Hichilema’s arrest was illegal and inimical to the interests of your country. Shame on this kind of leadership. It had to take Gen. Obasanjo to intervene. If it takes foreigners to straighten you out, we will continue to appeal to those foreigners. The solution is simple: the Zambian state must stop using its access to force to oppress the opposition parties. The state shouldn’t arrest people on trumped up charges. Play your politics, but don’t arrest people for no reason.
