Miss Zambia UK First Princess & Top Model, Musonda Kamfwa Malama will represent Zambia at the Princess of the World Pageant, which will take place at the Praha & Congress Centre hotel , in Prague, the Czech Republic, according to the Justina Mutale, organiser of Miss Zambia UK Beauty Pageant in London.
Musonda (21), a second year Law student at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, leaves for the Czech Republic today (Monday 14 September 2009) to join over 40 of the most beautiful young ladies from around the world, who will converge in Prague for the World finals of the Princess of the World Pageant, formerly known as Miss Europe & World Junior Pageant.
Musonda has previously represented Zambia in the Miss Caribbean and Commonwealth 2008 competition and was 1st Princess in the Miss Afro Caribbean 2009 Contest. Musonda was also a finalist in the famous British TV Model reality show, “Coleen’s Real Women” hosted by Coleen McLoughlin, wife of England striker, Wayne Rooney.
Princes of the World is a beauty contest for girls aged between 16 and 23 years of age. The contestants have an exciting programme ahead of them, which includes a meeting with the Mayor of Prague, a visit to the nuclear reactor in ?VUT Prague, promotional and charitably events in Prague, Ústí nad Orlicí, Poli?ka and Brno. The contestants will also spend three days in Hungary before returning to Prague for the grand finals.
“In addition to a good command of English, the contestants demonstrate their talent as well as communication and computer skills prior to the grand finals where they will take part in a fashion show, interview with moderator and swimsuit promenade” says Ing. Viktor Kr?a, President of the Princess of the World Contest.
Last year, Solange Elizabeth Romero Martinez from Venezuela, emerged winner of the Pageant, followed by Linda Moša?ová from Slovakia Republic as first princess and in third place was Michaela Dihlová from the Czech Republic.
This year, the Cezh Repbulic will be represented by eighteen year old Michaela Haladová, a student from Strakonice. Although Michaela has been studiyng English for for seven years, she is taking a crash course in preparation for the contest.
“For me, preparation for the finals of Princess of the World contest is not only a matter of a few days but many years preparation in davance. I have been a proffessional dancer since the age of six. When I was eight I did public performances and when I was nine I took part in some fashion shows in Prague shopping centres,” explains Michaela Haladová.
This is the 4th year that Zambia is participating in the Pageant formerly known as Miss Europe & World Junior. Previous contestants include Miss Zambia UK finalists Anne Choolwe Malambo, Sphiwe Mutale Benasho and Chama Chintu. Zambia and Kenya are the only African countries participating.
