Musukuma contributed greatly to journalism

President Rupiah Banda President  says he was saddened to learn of the untimely death of John Musukuma who was appointed Zambia’s Counsellor (Designate) to the Russian Federation.

President Banda said Mr. Musukuma, who also served as Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations at State House, was a very hard working man who contributed greatly to the development of Journalism in Zambia and the Southern Africa region.

In a press statement by his press aide, President Banda said that he decided to appoint Musukuma as Zambia’s Counsellor to Moscow because of his loyal and distinguished service to the nation.

“He will be remembered for his key role he played in the Smart Partnership Dialogue. His death is not just a loss to the family but the entire nation,” President Banda said.

Musukuma was among key Zambian experts who were in President Banda’s delegation to the 2009 Smart Partnership Dialogue in Uganda in July 2009.
