Senior Chief Kambombo welcomed Hichilema, Nalumango and Mutati at his palace in morning where they received his counsel, before taking a walk through the market in Chama. The rally that followed saw large crowds gather to hear Hichilema and his entourage speak about things to come if elected into office.
Hichilema, Mutati and Nalumango spoke at length of plans for the agriculture sector and to provide farmers with better support from Government. The entourage reiterated the commitment to pay farmers on time if elected and the importance of lowering the cost of inputs including fertiliser and seed. Agriculture production was discussed as one of the key priorities as a sure way of alleviating poverty among the rural communities and lowering the price of food.
Water and sanitation in Chama also require Government attention, Hichilema told the crowd. He also discussed plans for job creation, particularly for youth, education, healthcare and good governance.
The campaigner shave since moved on to Mbala and Mpulungu with stops for Sumbu, Kaputa and Chiengi.
