Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) National Youth Chairperson Moses Muteteka says it is good that the courts have resolved the issue of President Rupiah Banda, parentage as it was of great concern to the party.
Muteteka told 5fm that the ruling party is glad that the issue has come to an end as President Banda is their preferred candidate.
He noted that the MMD does not want to go to campaign with unfinished business pertaining to their candidate’s origin.
The Youth Chairperson thanked youths for coming in great numbers to support Present Banda as he filed in his nomination, adding that heir presence shows that they understand issues of national importance.
Meanwhile, Former Information Minister Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha said the parentage case of President Banda is just an indication that the Patriotic Front Leader Michael Sata is desperate as he knows he is headed for a loss in the polls.
He added that Sata knows that he cannot emerge victorious and will do anything to bring about unnecessary confusion in the country.
