Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) General Secretary Roy Mwaba says it is sad that the labor movement has not been included in the technical committee formed by President Michael Sata to ensure a new constitution is enacted.
Speaking in an interview, Mwaba said it is unacceptable for ZCTU to be sidelined as it has technocrats that represent the workforce in the country.
He expressed sadness that President Sata did not include organizations such as the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and Students Unions as they also have submissions that would benefit the Zambian people.
Mwaba noted that since time in memorial the labor movement has participated in all commissions dealing with the constitution and wondered why ZCTU has been sidelined this time.
The General Secretary appealed to the head of state to consider including the labor movement so that the workforce in the nation as represented by the right individuals.
