Mwanakatwe claims South Africa will suffer if they boycott Zambian products

Zambian Commerce Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe has claimed that South Africa will suffer more should that country boycott Zambian products.
Mwanakatwe was reacting to Secretary General of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (Numsa), Irvin Jim who recently called on South Africa to boycott Zambian products in protest against increasing dictatorship in Zambia following the arrest of UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema on a bogus treason charge.
Mwanakatwe boasted that Zambian products are increasingly on demand and many countries are willing to import what the country is currently exporting to South Africa.
‘Zambia will continue trading with Comesa member states if South Africa heeds to the call by Numsa to boycott Zambian products,’ Mwanakatwe boasted.
She said many countries are craving for the ‘high grade’ honey that Zambia exports to South Africa adding that South Africa stands to lose out claiming that the region is increasingly in need of Zambian products.
Numsa Secretary General Irvin Jim recently expressed concern at the increasing tyranny under Edgar Lungu and promised to do what they can to stop Zambia from sliding into civil war as a result of dictatorship.
