Namulambe failed to take development to Mpongwe even as minister- Rapson Chilufya

UPND candidate for Mpongwe bye-election Rapson Chilufya says the people of Mpongwe are thirsty for change of their area MP because former MP Gabriel Namulambe has only been concentrating on his personal welfare.

Mr. Chilufya says he finds no logic in Namulambe to argue that the people of Mpongwe can only receive development if Namulambe is in government because the area has lagged behind yet the former MP has been in cabinet from the time of late Levy Mwanawasa.

The UPND candidate says it is a known fact in Mpongwe that Namulambe has been concentrating on personal berry instead of working for the people of as can be seen from his lack of visits to the constituency since 2006.

Mr. Chilufya wondered what made Namulambe fail to take development to Mpongwe as a full-cabinet minister under late Mwanawasa and Rupiah Banda that he claims can only be achieved under the PF government which was full of dishonest people.

And Mr. Chilufya has also told the PF never to cheat the people of Zambia and Mpongwe that development can only be done if one is in the ruling party because that is highly undemocratic and irresponsible politics of the past.

He said Zambians should draw inspiration from late Levy Mwanawasa who took development to all parts of the country such as Luapula when he never had any MPs and support but managed to erect the Levy Mwanawasa bridge in the area.

The Mpongwe seat fell vacant after traitor Namulambe resigned from MMD to join PF because he wants to eat as a cabinet minister, a move that was widely condemned by churches and other interest groups who thought it was a waste of resources.
