Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) will not attend tomorrow’s independence celebrations because the party has not received official invitation from the government.
FDD Secretary General Nathan Mulonga has confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS today adding that the party would have loved to participate in the independence celebrations.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today, Mr. Mulonga described the incidence as an oversight on the part of Cabinet Office.
“As FDD, we have not received an invitation letter to attend the 2012 independence celebrations. We could have loved to participate but we can’t. I think it’s an over-sight on the part of government,” he lamented.
And Mr. Mulonga has advised Zambians to desist from excessive drinking because it is counter-productive.
