Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) President Edith Nawakwi has appealed to Zambians to give chance to women in the forthcoming elections as such will allow transparency in the country.
Speaking in Lusaka, Nawakwi said women should be accorded the opportunity through the ballot as they have proved themselves in other areas.
She bemoaned the stereotyping of females, adding that such is causing problems even when it comes to permitting women to stand as parliamentary and presidential candidates on party tickets.
Meanwhile, Patriotic Front (PF) National Chairperson Inonge Wina has said women should be resilient if they are to succeed in the political arena.
Wina challenged females to fight and not give up easily when they experience resistant from their male counterparts in politics.
She further urged the electorate to usher women into decision making positions as females have motherly hearts and potential to develop the nation.
