Ndola city council increases burial fees

31st December, 2017.

NDOLA CITY Council would like to announce that with effect from 1st January 2018, charges for burial at Council owned cemeteries have been revised as follows:

Burial at Kantolomba Cemetery will now cost K50, at Kawama Cemetery it will cost K50, at Kawama Special Cemetery it will cost K200, at Mitengo Cemetery it will cost K1,000, and at Kansenshi Cemetery it will cost K25,000.

The revision in prices follows a council resolution made on 28th September, 2017.

We would like to inform the public that the Local Authority has not adjusted prices upwards since 2014, despite an increase in the cost of living in the intervening years.

The Council further wishes to dismiss reports from some media outlets that it has hiked all burial permits to K15,000. This story is totally fabricated and falls in the category of “fake news”.

The Local Authority is therefore urging members of the public with queries to come through to the Local Authority as we will always be available to give clarity on any matter affecting the council.
