Nevers Mumba: Desecration on God’s house blessed by Sata; Zambia under demonic attack as seen by strange deaths

PRESS BRIEFING ADDRESSED BY PRESIDENT OF MMD DR. NEVERS MUMBA JUNE 2ND 2013, 14:00HRS LUSAKA

BLACK FRIDAY ATTACK

On Friday 31st May, 2013 a holy house of worship was desecrated by an evil group of PF CADRES. In an unprecedented development,  the ruthless PF Cadres stormed the house of worship with weapons and beat up the Bishops, Civil Society leaders and the media personnel.

This attack by government against its own people was because Zambians from all walks of life wanted to discuss the removal of subsidies from Mealie- meal and fuel, and how this would impact on the poor. They chose the church as a venue so that they could seek God’s guidance in prayer on how to convince the PF government that their action was detrimental to the very poor people who voted for them.

This attack is not by alleged PF Cadres as reported by the government media but the attack was truly carried out by known PF Cadres. It is not an allegation these are known people of PF. I wish to further state that this act was carried out with the full knowledge of President Sata, Secretary General Hon. Winter Kabimba and other Senior Member of PF. This act further confirms earlier reports that a PF Militia has been formed to beat anyone who criticizes the PF government. On 21st May this year, I started on a journey to Kanyama to go and interact with our members who had called me to discuss the meaning of the removal of subsidies. My advance team with the media was brutally attacked by the same PF Militia and ended up in hospital with both external and internal injuries. This therefore confirms that this is the new way PF has chosen to govern, through brute force and intolerance to opposing views.

BLACK FRIDAY ATTACK

For the first time since Independence a political party has chosen to disrespect God, His Sanctuary, His leaders and His people. PF has chosen the evil path to become a party which does not respect or honour God in a Christian nation.

The Church in Zambia is the most respected institution by most Zambians and all preceding governments. The church has been the refuge for all politicians when the nation has been faced with potentially dangerous transitions. The Church has been the meeting place for all opposing parties to resolve national issues. This singular act by the PF sets them against all Zambians who honour and worship God in spirit and truth.

This attitude by the PF confirms why the country is under so much demonic attack, why hundreds of our brothers and sisters have continued to die in a spate of road accidents in a way we have never experienced since Independence. The coming of army worms like it happened in Egypt when God judged Pharaoh and his people.

The high levels of Intolerance, politically motivated arrests of opposition leaders for challenging the status quo, the looming hunger caused by poor rainfall and the inability by the PF government to deliver inputs to the farmers on time and many more are clear indications from all God fearing people that God is no longer the centre of our activities as Christian nation.

To reverse this apparent curse on our land, the PF government must disband the militia, denounce violence, become tolerant to opposing views and publicly ask God’s forgiveness in a public manner so as to seek God’s favour on our land.

On the other hand, I would like to call on all God fearing Zambians to call on God to cleanse our country of all evil that has covered the land. Let us stand on 2 Chronicles 7:14 which states, ”If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from wicked ways, then  I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land” Our land needs healing.

I call on all my colleagues, the Bishops, Prophets, Pastors, Priests and Reverends across the country to join us in condemning the act by the PF to enter into God’s house of worship and beat up worshipers. If we don’t stop the PF now, Zambia shall soon enter a “reign of terror” which shall not spare anyone. Those church leaders and Zambians who think are safe, are terribly mistaken. When this violence begins it shall spare no one. I am sure the ZNBC Journalist would never have thought that they also would be beaten together with opposition. Violence has no eyes. It knows no political party and it knows no tribe. Let us stop it now, by stopping the PF from leading this country into chaos.

If the PF Militia wing is not disbanded I see other political parties setting up their own, and the losers will be the Zambian people.

LOSS OF DIRECTION

MMD believes that the PF has lost direction by removing subsidies on Mealie- meal and fuel. Firstly, they have no mandate to do what they have done as they were voted into office on a pro-poor ticket of keeping Mealie-meal prices and fuel costs lower than MMD kept them. By this action, PF has u-turned mid stream. To legitimize their stay in office, they need to call for fresh elections and seek new mandate based on a new electoral platform of a capitalist party.

The economic argument of PF that the wish to move the savings from subsidies to developing infrastructure does not stand. If the PF were committed to savings, they would have saved by:-

(a)   Stopping the PF induced by-elections costing billions of kwacha every other month. Almost every local government election has been caused by the PF physically offering money to opposition Councilors to move to PF.

(b)   The creation of un- budgeted for districts and provinces.

(c)    The 100% salary increments for the President and his Ministers.

(d)   The most bloated administration since Independence.

These and other un- wanted expenditure lines would have taken the place of the subsidies the Zambian people need the subsidies, just like the American farmers always enjoy subsidies from their government.

We urge PF to suspend this dangerous experiment and go back to the people and find the better solution to deal with the looming bankruptcy of government created by the uncoordinated un- budgeted for programs. One example is the re-call of all diplomats from all our missions and sending a whole new PF contingent at great cost. UP to day many of the recalled diplomats have not been paid their benefits.

It is this poor economic co-ordination which has caused the dire shortage of ARV’s for our people country wide.

NEW HOPE MMD

Over past twelve months, our party has gone through a furnace experience and can quote the words of St. Paul to the Corinthians 4:8,9 “ we are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed  but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.”

Our opponents have tried to use our self cleansing process as a sign of weak leadership and an expression of lack of interest in the party by Zambians but to the contrary, our resilience of standing against the destructive might of the ruling party working on collaboration with hired agents for such a sustained period is a show of strong and resolved leadership. If I was not surrounded by men and women of courage and resolve, the Party would have disintegrated by now. The fact that we are still here and planning for the future and a new Zambia is a confirmation that the leadership in MMD is not a push over, but a tested one and ready to govern again.

For months a row, screaming headlines in the government controlled media declared that MMD was going to die. In a well orchestrated campaign our opponents campaigned against the democratically elected leadership of our party and vilified us as failures who needed to be replaced by people they themselves would have preferred. A few of our weak members fell for the trap and moved either to the PF or other parties. This strategy of our well financed opponents has failed, because God is fighting this battle for us and the voiceless poor represented by the MMD.

our experience in the past few months reminds me of the story of the newly independent state of Israel in 1948, where international media including TIME magazine splashed headlines that the new state would not last 48hours! Within this same time frame the new state was attacked, but some how repelled the aggressors. Through blood and toil, sixty five years later Israel stands as the only and strongest democracy in Middle- East.

Being attacked, insulted, arrested, thrown in jail, buying your members, losing some by-elections, sponsored divisions in one’s camp is not a sign of failure of leadership. MMD from this point can only become stronger as we head towards the next election.

To all our membership congratulations for standing your ground against all odds. I believe that Zambia shall be saved.

I thank you
