NHA workers go strike

National Housing Authority workers have downed tools over non-payment of salaries since July 2016.

NHA has not paid workers salaries in the last 8 months.

The state owned real estate agent runs commercial estates in the central business district that include FINDECO House, Kulima Tower, ZIMCO and INDECO House.

A check at NHA accounts reveal that all tenants occupying office in the above building are up to date with the payments of rentals.

Workers have threatened to lock all the office if the salary arrears are not settled within 14 days.

Senior Management is not concerned with this matter because they are paying themselves heft fuel and weekend allowances.

Bwalya Makasa who is acting director real estate and a relative to NHA board Chairperson Francis Ndilila runs 2 companies engaged as suppliers where half of the income generated is directed to.
