The number of Heads of State that have confirmed that they will attend President Michael Sata’s burial on Tuesday, November 11 has risen to nine.
And South African Vice President Cyril Ramaphosa will represent President Jacob Zuma at the funeral instead of that country’s first lady.
Mr. Ramaphosa will be accompanied by South Africa’s Foreign Affairs Minister.
Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba has confirmed this in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
Mr. Kalaba says the heads of state are expected to start arriving on Monday ahead of President Sata’s burial set for Tuesday.
On Wednesday Mr. Kalaba confirmed that eight Heads of State that include Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, Democratic Republic of Congo’s Joseph Kabila, Hifikepunya Pohamba of Namibia and Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta will attend the burial.
